Good Flute Stuff at the St. Louis Tionol, April 15 - 17

Hola! No, I don’t get paid to say this; I’m just an old veteran who wants to put in a plug for the St. Louis Tionol because I’ve gotten so much out of it over the years. It’ll be held in :astonished: St. Louis! :astonished: April 14 -16 this year, and it’s becoming an absolutely amazing weekend – as good as the music gets, and it’s within a day’s drive of a significant chunk of the Midwest. The concert Saturday night has been absolutely spectacular the last few years – better than my CDs!

As for workshops, first-class player and teacher Brid O’ Donohue will be running the flute class. Whistle classes will be conducted by Kathleen Conneely, John Skelton and Bryan Kelso-Crow.

And the piping classes, o the piping classes … Leo Rickard, Mikey Smyth, & Michael Cooney. Plus other classes with greats like Oisin McDiarmada, Mary MacNamara, Michael Rooney, and too many others to list. Basically, you’ve heard 'em on your recordings, here’s your chance to see 'em live and learn from 'em, too.

So if you’re tune- (did I mention the 36 hours of session opportunity?) or tutelage-starved and in the Midwest, come out of your cave in a couple of weeks! You’ll take lots of good stuff home. I sure have!

 I got a chance to go a couple years ago and was really impressed. Can’t wait for this year!
