***Space Shuttle Tragedy***

May we all take a moment to remember the souls lost onboard the space shuttle Columbia this morning. Preliminary reports seem to show it breaking up over central Texas at an altitude of about 200,000 feet as it was re-entering the atmosphere.

Prayers for all involved.

Very Sad news and just 4 days after the anniversary of the Jan 28th 1986 crash of the space shuttle Challenger.

Their lives were given in persuit of our dreams of reaching the stars. God bless them and their families.

I’ve been watching it on TV the last hour…this is so sad…my prayers are with the families.

My thoughts and energies are going out to everyone affected by the events of this morning… especially the families and friends who loved them most.

Blessings,

May the explorers be remembered with honor.

May their families feel our love and support.

May the exploration never cease. May their names be carried someday out among the stars.

My condolences to all that are affected by this mornings tradgedy :frowning:

So sad. I’m sure we will all be praying for the family and friends of all those affected. They were so brave.

Unbelievable news. Maybe somebody will sign a condolence book for me somewhere in the US. I do have to say that two accidents in 20 years shows the fantastic level of safety that is achieved by NASA. I feel for the families left behind.

My thoughts and prayers are with all who are affected by this international tragedy.

It’s hard to put into words…

I too add my condolances.

There was an interesting story on MSNBC just now about just how international this flight was: not only was an Israeli on board, but an American woman born and raised in India.

Perhaps now NASA will heed the warnings of the great physicist Richard Feynman who wrote, after the Challenger disaster, that the Shuttle was obsolete and dangerous in the 1980s.

Stuart

That’s terrible!

Very sad.

It’s also a pity that CNN in its zeal to keep stoking up the “breaking news” atmosphere is giving airtime to doo-lally National Enquirer-style theories about terrorism; on the basis that there’s a town called Palestine somewhere in Texas. They should just let the unfortunate victims rest in peace and treat their bereaved families with a little more respect.

My first thought on seeing this this morning was “Oh God no…not again!” It still seems like yesterday that we lost the Challenger astronauts.

My heart and prayers are with the families who expected to be embracing their loved ones by now, and who now must face a lifetime without them :frowning:
