Wow, those truly are beautiful shots. Just about any graphics program will
give you the option to resize an image. Some will have an extra option to
change the relationship of vertical and horizontal (which you don’t want). Just
resize and tell the software to maintain the the vertical and horizontal aspects.
Its hard to tell you a good size, because everyone has different sized
monitors, and many people run their monitors at different resolutions. As a
“safe” guideline I would suggest nothing wider than 800 pixels.
Another option is to resize to a really small picture, maybe 100 pixels wide
and save this separately as a “thumbnail” image. You can use the thumbnail
image in links to a larger version of the original image file for those who may
choose to follow your link.
Nice pictures. Usually at this time of year I would have taken a trip or two to the High Uintas. (My family is from Bear Lake area and I spent many years in Utah.)
Where I live now is not a bad place for scenery, but I miss the landscape of the inter-mountain west. Any chance of you heading to the Uintas and posting some pics?
wow. the hugeness of the pics just added to them. i live in west virginia, “the mountain state” but we ain’t got nothing like them here. our state should really be called “the valley state.”
I love the Winds. Have done some nice backpacking there, but the bugs can be nasty at the wrong time of year.
These are jpg files. If you use Windows as your operating system, the built-in
Paint program can resize these. Just open the file with Paint, go to the top
menu and select Image - Stretch/Skew. Using only the stretch part, make the
horizontal and vertical something smaller. Say 50%. As noted by others, you
should keep these two percents the same. Save the file as another name so
you don’t affect the original and you are done.
Probably not. I’ve heard some horor stories about having to fight huge crowds in the Uintas. Here’s hoping you get back there soon, and here’s hoping even more that the stories I’ve heard are completely wrong.
wow. the hugeness of the pics just added to them.
They’re even bigger in real life. I’ll try to get them resized when I get time (I’m really, really bad at that kind of stuff). Once I do, I’ll post some more.
