Photos from Colorado, Utah and New Mexico

Some of you may or may not know that I disappeared for six weeks this summer because I was busy out west at geology field camp.

Anywho, I’m back, and here are some pretty pictures for y’all:

(I’m the idiot in the 15-ft scarf, btw)

Those were breathtaking, Sam! I noticed that you were gone (as I wondered where your useless posts were  ), but I didn’t know where. Glad you’re back, and thanks for sharing those beautiful pictures

Love the pics! I recognize some of the places from my visits there! Well done!

Great photos TS!! Thanks for sharing them!! You’re the one in the scarf? With the brown Fedora? Nice hat!

It’s more of an olive-green actually, but ya, that’s me! :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m surprised by the diversity of the temperatures. You have pictures of folks in shorts and
teeshirts, then of people in coats and scarves… It reminds me of Mount Haleakala in Maui.
80 degrees in the day, 40 deg. and windy as soon as the sun goes down.

BTW, I like your scarf. I’ve been knitting a Dr](http://www.geocities.com/Area51/Zone/3746/FigB.jpg%22%3EDr). Who-style scarf of a similar length.
It’s taking forever!

Yep, I recognize some of my stomping grounds. Geology students in vans are a regular sight in the summer here. It’s always looked like an awful lot of fun to me. But you didn’t call or stop by! What a great experience for you, Sam.

Welcome back Sammy! Love the hat. My new one is in my avatar, got it in Boston last month

What a Rocky mountain high! Welcome home Sam. Delightful pictures and you got more! You weren’t playing Dr.Who were you?

Beautiful. Makes me homesick for the West. Thanks for posting them.

I’m jealous. Those are gorgeous!

Blast! Websense has your site blocked as “tasteless”. :boggle:

I s’pose I’ll just wait till I get home.

OK, now that I’m home, let me take a few guesses:

Clayton Lake, New Mexico?

Syenite outcropping?

Devil’s Thumb, Colorado?

Spanish Peaks, Colorado?

Along Interstate 40 in the Texas panhandle, near the leaning water tower?

Excellent pics.

Brassblower, did you look those up first??? If not, and you’re right, kudos.

Breathtakingly beautiful.

No. These places look like places I’ve actually seen.
