Pumpkin chocolate chip cookies!!!
My oven had been dead for a few weeks, so the appliance fixer guy was finally able to get here to fix it. The house smells YUMMMMMMY!!!

Are you willing to part with the recipe?
I made some pumpkin/chocolate chip bread after enjoying some in a
coffee shop (my first time using a real pumpkin instead of canned).
I’d like to try baking some of those cookies, they sound nice…
Pumpkin cranberry muffins! mmmmmm
T
Pumpkin cookies are one of those things like tea. Smells better than it tastes. But pumpkin bread? Mmmm.
Well now, as y’all know, I don’t like cookin’ much, but I did make something today out of pumpkin-
a Jack-o-lantern (I had help from my granddaughter so it was more fun)
Pumpkin Ale…hick ![]()
Tomorrow we are going to roast pumpkin seeds…another fall treat that’s good on a chilly, windy day.
–James
Our local high-class food shop now carries Libby’s canned pumpkin. I’m attempting my first pumpkin pie this year - but unfortunately there is no Cool Whip, nor are there graham cracker crusts. Still, it’s a start, and I second the call for the recipe!
No, really, um … can we have the recipe? (Nothing is more pathetic than a salivating chipmunk. Nothing, I say.)
IZZY!!!
we’re getting chipmunk drool all over the board!!!
post the recipe already…
And their incessant high pitched chirping is worse than a whistle pig.
They actually are just as good as they smell ![]()
Recipe for those who asked:
ingredients
1/2 c. butter
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 egg
1 (16 oz.) can pumpkin (or you can use a real pumpkin and bake until it’s soft before using)
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. nutmeg (or I sometimes use 1/2 tsp of ground cloves and 1/2 tsp of ground ginger instead of the nutmeg)
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 c. walnuts, chopped (optional)
1 c. chocolate chips
Cream butter and sugar. Add rest of ingredients, mixing well. Drop by rounded spoonfuls onto baking sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes.

Good grief, Denny! Stop yelling! I have a blasted headache as it is ![]()

Something else that’s really good on a fall day…
Chili. With oyster crackers and cheddar cheese chunks and a big glass of cold milk.
And then some of those cookies for dessert. More cold milk, please.
Ooh! I have most of those ingredients already!
Seriously, you have no idea how unusual it is for me to have the right ingredients, hehe. If the last egg in the fridge wasn’t well past the date, and if we had real butter instead of spreadable stuff, and if I used some of my three-year-old pumpkin spice mix instead of buying nutmeg and cinnamon, I could make them now.
Oh. I don’t have any chocolate chips. I knew something was wrong! ![]()
Must go ingredient shopping before the weekend. I need evaporated milk for the pumpkin pie anyway.
Oooo…pumpkin pie!! Now that my oven is working, I can bake one of those too!!! ![]()
::Does a happy dance all around the pub::
