at least here in my house. I made pumpkin and apple pies today. So who’s coming over? Bring your whistles, and we can play a set or two! 
And the person who brings the Guinness gets an extra piece of pie.

Pumpkin pies so early? I’m just starting to pull the late tommatoes. Usually I keep pulling them until Thanksgiving or so.

Nope, but I have heard of Fried Green Tomatos. They even made a movie called that.
My smells of Autumn:
Wifts of smoke
a mixture of the raked leaves reduced to ash
and the first evening fireplaces kindled.
The smell of maple sap starting its journey
towards the syrup, ornamenting morning wheat cakes.
Hot Apple Cider stirred with cinimon sticks
and melted marshmellow in the coco.
Quick breads set too cool,
pumpkin, zuchini, and apple.
