SOLD - Sam Murray keyless “D” blackwood flute for sale.

SORRY TO ALL WHO DIDN’T GET IT-- IT IS A WONDERFUL FLUTE.
IT WENT TO AN ACCOMPLISHED PLAYER. WE ARE BOTH DELIGHTED TO HAVE ACCOMPLISHED THE TRANSACTION.

I am offering a Sam Murray keyless “D” blackwood flute for sale. It is a beautiful flute in perfect condition. It plays as well as any Murray I have ever played, and way better than most. It is in perfect tune, has a strong, clear tone, and feels great in the hands. It has been well-kept and is in nearly pristine condition, with no cracks or dings. It is about five years old and was made when Sam was still living in Belfast.
I want $1,300 for the flute. A new Olwell or Grinter costs upwards of $1,450 and entails a wait. I will charge USPS price for postage and insurance.
A new Murray would cost a bit less, but dealing with Sam is never a certain thing. This is available immediately. And you will love the flute.

P.S. If you ask, “Could I do any better on the price,” the answer of course is “yes." If I wait a bit – until the Fall – I could probably get more for the flute. It is that good. But $1,300 is enough for me.
I could post a picture but sure, it looks like any other Sam Murray flute. Great workmanship, clear wood, bump on the tuning barrel, four-piece Rudall design with silver rings.

Thanks.

I wonder if Imight ask some questions, by way of a bump.

It’s a Rudall, yes?
How is the bottom? Does the maker make
Prattens too?

Is this the flute Harry Bradley is playing on his
CDs?

What do these cost new? I have no problem with your
charging more than new, just want to know.

How is the volume?

Is there a case?

Thanks, Jim

It’s a Rudall, yes? As stated: four-piece Rudall design with silver rings.

How is the bottom? Very solid. Easy to get a clear, strong D. Speaks right out.

(I have a Byrne and the bottom is a bit of a struggle still) Without doubt not the fault of the flute or the maker.

Does the maker make Prattens too? Doubtful. Why would he?

Is this the flute Harry Bradley is playing on his CDs? Yes.

What do these cost new? About $1,200 shipped, I believe. 8 (?) months wait. Insh’allah

How is the volume? Harry has no problem. As strong as you are able to make it play. To quote my wife: “Is your flute-playing worth great volume? A flute is only as good as the player.”

Is there a case? Yes. The original case that came with it.

Where are you located? New England

I should note that there is a sale pending.
