I am selling a four-year old Sam Murray 5-key blackwood flute in D. The rings and keys are silver. It has long C, G#, long and short F keys, and a Bb key. The flute is a large-hole Rudall, in excellent condition with no cracks. It plays very nicely, well in tune, excellent volume and is extremely responsive. The flute comes in a hard-shell anvil case that I believe Sam sold with his flutes about three years ago. I would guess that the case sells in the range of $75. It is very tidy and fits the flute well. It is not large and clunky.
The wait on a keyed Murray would probably be considerable. I am asking $2,400 for the flute and case. I think this is a reasonable price for a hard-to-find flute by a top maker.
I cannot upload pictures due to the slow dial-up I have now, but there isn’t much to be gained from seeing the pictures. It is a typical Murray flute, nicely made, slim and elegant. The flute is clean and well-oiled.
Shipping and insurance will be extra depending on how fast you want it and the amount of insurance coverage. I would prefer to send it via USPS, rather than by UPS. It will be shipped by a friend in the U.S. unless somebody from Ireland wants it. The flute is here with me now but it will be taken back across next week.

I’d like to remind folks that there is 5 hour time difference between Ireland and the US. When it is 5 PM EST there is is 10 PM in Ireland. 10PM EST in the US is the middle of the night here.
