Sweet !

Very nice indeed! Walden, you’ve been posting some great stuff lately.

wishes she could make prettyful sounds like that

runs off to practice and annoy the dorm-mates

The idea for the “virutal recording session” came from a friend who does radio spots. He gets an email of an ad to read, records an MP3 and emails it to his customers for radio broadcast. I thought it might work for us whistlers, and we gave it a shot.

Tuaz is in Singapore, Walden is in Oklahoma, and I’m in California but the internet made it easy to do.

Ah, the wonders of technology!

Very nicely done.

That piece (Be Thou My Vision) is a personal favorite of mine.

Please make and post more!

I love the counter melody near the end of the piece. Great job!

And BrassBlower is just a few counties away from me, in Arkansas.

Good work, guys. I grew up with that hymn, and it’s always a favorite although I don’t hear it as much anymore.

Does anyone know how old the tune is supposed to be?

…is absolutely amazing. Part of what makes C&F so special!

Background info on this lovely hymn is available at: http://www.cyberhymnal.org/htm/b/t/btmvison.htm

Thanks, paulsdad. Fascinating to know that the words are so ancient. As ever, the origins of the old tunes are lost in the mists of time.

BTW, could anyone tell me how to turn off MIDI music when I access a site? I don’t ever see an “off button” or the like…

N, make it stop, please

Some sites are set up so you can turn on or off the embedded music. However in the case of Cyberhymnal (and, indeed, of my own hymn site) your simplest option would probably be just to turn down your speakers before you go to the page.

With some soundcards, you have an option to mute MIDI sound in Volume Control.

If you’re in Windows, double click on the little yellow speaker icon in the taskbar near the clock, or go to Start > Programs > Accessories > Entertainment to get to Volume Control.

Thanks, Walden, Beth.

Being so green at 'puters, I mainly just flail around. I’ll keep an eye out for the pointers you gave me.
