Just received this morning from Petrus in the UK a silver
copeland soprano D. I had once a nickel one of these which
I foolishly sold; this sounds better. Lovely pure metallic silver
sound.
What a beautiful thing.

I have one too Jim. It’s my favorite-sounding whistle in the lower register, smooth and chiffy, not too mellow, complex. It requires confidence and really dominates in the upper register, especially at B and beyond, so in sessions I only play it when I’m feeling really right on.
Glad you found another one! I was always sorry I didn’t act quick enough to buy your nickel D.

Yes, it has a lot of volume. It may be necessary to play the
top of the second octave staccotto, at least in some
settings. It will be interesting to see what happens
with other instruments.
Congrats Jim; enjoy it for long time!

Thanks. This is very nice.
It’s sort of phenomenal.
There may (or may not) be better
whistles for ITM, but the world is
a better place for these being
in it.
Ah, Jim, so it’s whistles again, now, is it? Congratulations
I know the feeling. I spent a lovely hour with the Alba Low F I bought from Doc’s Irish Flute Store. Now that I’m getting the hang of it, it’s just too much fun.
