shipping a chanter from the US to Ireland

I need to ship my chanter to Ireland for some repairs by the maker. Does anyone have suggestions for the best way to ship from the US to Ireland? I am thinking of the cost factor but also want to ensure that my chanter arrives without mishap.

Also, any suggestions for packing a chanter?

Use USPS. It’s the “inexpensive” way to go . Also use Global Priority (hence the quotations for inexpensive) for “next day,” (which ain’t next day…perhaps 2-3 days). USPS uses FedEx as the carrier. USPS prices w/FedEx service.

If GP is not affordable , reg parcel USPS is grand as well. It’ll get there too, but there is a higher likelyhood for things to get lost…so TRY to afford it! I look at the extra money spent as insurance.
