Shipping Pipes

I actually searched this to be sure it wasn’t already covered, so if I missed it, I apologize.

What method do you use in shipping pipes? UPS store, Fed Ex, USPS, etc. (specifically for US participants)

I am selling a set and I’m trying to be responsible in not jacking up the shipping but I also don’t want a replay of my Hammered Dulcimer (had to fork out another $80 in shipping costs).

Thanks again for all your great input!

Matthew

Fedex. all the carriers have created evil events. spend the $$ in packing your shipment VERY well. your package should support you standing on it. that’ll prevent most of what could go wrong…

Gotcha. If I ship it overseas, is fedex still the best?

FedEx won’t be the cheapest option, but probably the least amount of hassles. I had good results using FedEx to ship a set of from England to California a few years back. There are two keys to success–correct packing (so that it can survive being dropped from a cargo bay onto a hardened concrete runway) and correct documents. Do some research to see what documentation is needed, and don’t presume that the shipping agents actually know what they’re doing (most of them are trained and conscientious professionals, but it only takes one eedjit to screw up your shipment).
