postal services from Ireland to US

I am looking for anyone with knowledge of Irish postal services to suggest any companies that will insure a flute for its full value to be sent to the US. An Post will only insure it up to 35euros (or that’s what they told me yesterday). UPS only does commercial deliveries. Thanks. Norah

Hi Nora,

Either DHL or FedEx should be willing to insure for the entire value.

If you ship it to me I’ll let you use my DHL account number. I mean, sure, Dana would be sort of miffed at first. But she’s a very nice person and would probably forget about it eventually. And think of the money you’d save!

Cheers,

Doc

Norah, please see my post on the topic, at http://chiffboard.mati.ca/viewtopic.php?t=43518 , titled “Need Advice on Shipping: Ireland to U.S.A.” There are several good suggestions.

Dana

I sometimes ship parcels to Europe & States. An Post went very very expensive in last few years: absolute rip off territory. I found that Interlink and ancillary company DPD were about half the price.
