Having deliberated over whether or not to go, I bit the bullet and drove over to the reedmaking workshop. I’m so glad I made the effort. I have most of the materials to make reeds and learnt that I onlyneed to fabricate one or two jigs and I’ll be ready for manufacturing them.
Brian Howard was a mosr informative teacher and it was certainly an education to see the reeds being made and to pick up a whole load of tips and pitfall avoidance measures.
To top it all off I was invited to curry followed by a session in the Dog and Partridge. All in all a very enjoyable and rewarding six and a half hours in Sheffield.
I’ll be returning for the Wednesdaay evening lessons/sessions. Can’t wait to take the next steps on the journey towards proficiency.
