I’ve been playing a high D whistle for some time now and i just resently got a tony dixon low D (which I love). I was wondering if anyone knew of a place online that gives you sheet music for these instruments. i bought some books that give you sheet music, but they dont have all the songs i’m looking for. ![]()
Depending on the type of tunes you want to play, you could also google the titles, putting the title of each tune in quotation marks, and doing a separate search for each tune. There are many sources of tunes in either stave or ABC notation on the web.
Edit: It might be safer to omit the definite article that comes at the start of many tune names, as it is generally omitted from tune lists and I don’t know how search engines treat it when it is included within quotes - e.g. I suggest you should search for “maid behind the bar”, not “the maid behind the bar”.

Another thing is to search the title of the tune in Google Images.

exact!!!
Okay thanks for all your help. i never would have found these sites. and i’ll try google too.
BRILLIANT!!!
I never thought of searching for tunes that way before! When I google-imaged ‘el condor pasa’, it came up with way more usable hits than any other way I’ve tried.
Thanks dude!
A site I found recently is http://home.comcast.net/~saustin98/lark/
It’s the site for a group that meets in the Puget Sound area. They have a lot of tunes listed with sheet music and midis.

I don’t suppose anyone has the sheet music for the braveheart song? I can’t seem to find it anywhere.
I’m pretty sure the copyright hasn’t expired yet, that’s probably why it’s hard to find.
Anyway, for general music, I’d recommend:
The Tune of the Month thing on Chiff and Fipple’s main site
http://tinwhistler.com/index.aspx (Just found this one tonight)
http://sniff.numachi.com/~rickheit/dtrad/ (this is a general traditional/folk music site; not all tunes are easily played on whistle and some just give lyrics and no music)
Here’s the basic Love Theme from Braveheart:

You can use the concertina.net Convert-A-Matic to turn it into sheet music:
