Hi,
I just recently added soprano D whistle to my short list of instruments and really love it. I’ve been playing traditional music and really enjoy it! I would also love to get my hands on sheet music for the Titanic, Braveheart, and Lord of the Rings songs in keys suitable for D whistle. Any ideas if such exists or where to find it?

Hey, how about the theme from The Good, the Bad and the Ugly?! 
Gabriels Oboe from ´The Mission´ is a beautiful tune and very easy to find by ear. Tony Hinnigan plays the tune in one of his whistle reviews.
Search for Gabriel´s Oboe in youtube and there are lots of recordings to find there.
All or most of the music you spoke of is available at the online downloadable music web stores. If you look carefully, some music is able to be automatically transposed in the key you want. Some sites won’t offer the option, but some will.
My favorites from movies are:
Harry Potter: “Hedwig’s Theme”, and “Window to the Past”
Pirates of the Caribbean: “He’s a Pirate”, “Two Hornpipes”, and “Davy Jones” (the locket melody)
I’m thinking of taking on the whistle melody from Star Trek, next: “The Inner Light”

Around a year ago I had a gig coming up where the Bride wanted me to play For the Love of a Princess (I think that’s the title) from Braveheart.
I looked online and apparently it was only published in a piano book that’s long out of print. At that time I didn’t see any used copies on Ebay.
I called Eric Rigler, the guy who played uilleann pipes on the Braveheart soundtrack, to see if he had sheet music. He said he did not, and that he himself had to learn it by ear from the Braveheart CD when somebody asked him to play it at a wedding. (When you do a studio gig they gather up all the sheet music at the end of the recording session.)
So that’s what I did, just learned it by ear off the CD.
My favourite story about a movie theme tune was the Belfast couple that told the elderly organist at their wedding that they wanted the theme from Robin Hood. The organist did not know of the Bryan Adams song and said he thought that the Robin Hood theme was a little odd for them to walk down the aisle to, but the Bride told him that it was a beautiful song and that it was what she wanted.
So the couple walked down the aisle to “Robin Hood, Robin Hood, riding through the glen, Robin Hood, Robin Hood and his Merry Men” the theme to the 1950s TV series.
