Ok, I just built my first flute, as you may have seen in the other thread.
Well, I’m very enthuziastic about this whole flute construction thing, and now I’ve gone off and gotten one of those spreadsheets that you can use to calculate hole distances… and now I’ve gone and done something rash.![]()

With crossfingering I can now go fully chromatic without half covering. The F hole also happens to improve the tuning on the crossfingering for Bb. Didn’t plan that, just a freebie I guess.
Now I just have to get good at playing it.
Next project, a Low C (no fancy stuff on this one though, just a nice trad system. As if I could streach for the pinky hole anyway).
The devil keeps on telling me to drill holes in my Susato low D. I think I’m not going to though… at least until I get another low D… Mwahahaha!! ![]()
