Shakespeare was a Jewish woman?

So says an article from Jewcy.com

That’s an interesting article, for sure.

Fascinating, and very convincing! I’m interested to hear feedback from the community of Shakespeare scholars!

Me too.

The website name is awesome. Jewcy.com How could you go wrong?

I think that any section titled “Feminism” which discusses Taming of the Shrew
is barking up the wrong tree. Maybe “Feminism” had a different meaning in the
Renaissance?

Tenuous and circumstantial in each case.

A playwright unlikely to know musical terms or know any “professional musicians” if he’s working with a theatre company in London? That just might have a body of musicians attached? Can’t see it, myself.
Again, he might not know Italian if he’s living in Stratford, but if he’s spending most of his time in London, he just might come across some Italian merchants.
Playwrights and writers hunger for stories. I knew a good few Jewish stories myself, and I’ve come across them from sources which don’t recognise them as Jewish, and might be dismayed if they did!
It won’t wash.

No, it’s a “read my book” article.

Probably right. Authors have always done research, and paid people to help them do it. More likely Shakespeare knew what he was after, wanted to make it authentic, and obtained help from people who could make it so.
Still, the name thing is pretty perplexing. Maybe she was one of his researchers, and the names were in tribute to her?

:boggle:

By next week, there will be an article alleging that Ghandi was a three-legged mule, and lived in Arkansas.

Never believe anything from a site that pushes “isms” so hard. They are hardly reliable on any front, except to whip up the emotions of their fellow travelers. Flat-earthers have more fact on their side.

Honestly, you haven’t really experienced Shakespeare until you’ve read it in the original Klingon.

That explains the aggression in the guy’s last name. Or at least, that’s the premise of my own upcoming book.

No, Yiddish, my man!

To be or not to be… you call this a qvestion?
