Sh*t performance

We have an acoustic music club in the skittle alley of one of the local pubs.
Last night during a performance by “Slim and Hal Johnson” the landlady’s dog entered the room. It weaved unseen through the crowd and I spotted it as it crossed the floor heading for the stage (in this case the last 10 feet of floor). Slim and Hal didn’t seem to notice as the dog (some kind of bull terrier ,standing 12" at the shoulder) passed between them and stopped just behind them.
The dog then did what dogs do best , the audience watched open mouthed as the Johnsons played on oblivious to what was happening.
By the time the song ended Slim and Hal were becoming aware that something was not quite right (the smell was a dead give away).
Their reaction when they turned around to see the result of the dog’s efforts was a picture!
Undetered they lauched into their next number not batting an eyelid as the land lady crawled between them to clear it up.
Slim, Hal, the Land Lady and the dog ,I salute you.

This is where those with tune suggestions chime in. What do you follow an act like that with?

The Dogs Among the Bushes would be my suggestion.

“Everybody wants ta get inta da act!”

“One o’ these days these boots are gonna…walk all over you.”

That song from Ghostbusters: “Cleanin’ up the town!”

This is live theatre at its finest.

There’s nothing like a dog act.

My favourite involved a very large dog that belonged to the pianist in my band. We were at his place practicing vocal harmonies using the PA. At one point Keith sang a line solo.

The pooch entered the room and looked at the PA speakers with interested bemusement. When Keith got to his one line of glory, the dog hurled himself at the speaker box in full frontal pleased-to-see-you greeting. When the dog picked himself up from the mess of equipment and noticed us cracking up, I’ve never seen a more surprised animal. I wish I had a photograph, just in case HMV ever want to change the Nipper photo.

My wife and I were out on a country ramble, and on our way through a sleepy village with no-one around I had to stop momentarily to adjust my bootlace. There was a wooden bench on a little patch of grass, so I sat on the bench. Just then, out of nowhere, a huge great dog shambled lazily up to me, crapped right next to my feet and shambled off again without so much as a by-your-leave. The whole scene played out in total silence. Until the dog had vanished that is, when I think we must have woken the whole place up laughing.

Well I’d have been even more surprised if the dog had said to you first '‘scuse me Steve, old son, would you mind awfully if I dropped a crap right next to your shoe?’

Bugger. I hadn’t thought of that. Maybe he didn’t say anything because he didn’t know my name.

Puppy training class last year. The trainer set up little pylons around the area, each with a sign on it. Sit. Stay. Leave it. Down. Stand. Your basic dog commands.

One of the families regularly brought their chatty 6 year old son with them. As the dog trainer set up the pylons, she joked with the kid, “You think we’ll get these dogs to read?!”

“Oh, no!” the kid replied. "I know you can train them to read eventually, but these are just puppies.

Were you wearing sunglasses at the time? Perhaps he just didn’t recognize you (else he’d have leapt up on your jumper and left muddy paw-prints on it).

LOL, a few days ago one of those home video programs that hubby and I almost never watch had a clip of a girl playing a flute in her living room…til her large dog walked up, took it out of her mouth adn hands, and walked away with it.

Da Hubby and I rolled!

Nice play on words there by the way. “Undetered” = “under turd.” I get it, I get it!

Were there any other critics present?

The Aristocrats!

This family walks up on stage and says, “Let us show you are new act. It’s sure to be a hit.” He then proceeds to. . .
