Patrick.

Tom- you’ll reallly like the CDs; wish I could make it ; keep Patrick and Larry in line; well, as much humanly possible I suppose

Very tight dulling there I might add.

I couldn’t pick up the (actual) names of the tunes clearly. As they seem to have been renaimed. Care to comment Patrick. By any chance is it a 6/8?

Cheers L42B

Hi L42B…

They are reels and the “reel” name is “Teampall an Ghleanntáin”. The Hairy Reel is what the boys called it on the night - represented the evenings feel a bit better I thought

Patrick.

UPDATE: I spent the morning at the post office sending out all your CD’s. You should be receiving them very soon.

Thanks for all the orders so far, it is appreciated very greatly! …and for those that haven’t ordered one yet… you are bad people  … get your checks written and sent to me… they aren’t going to be around forever! Only 200 pairs have been made so you get the idea

Patrick.

Not having shown up with them for 2 weeks now, you better be holding copies for me & Joey. If you’d rather by mail, then let’s do that.

Kevin Krell

HAHA! I have some in my case for you specifically… but… I will be in Nashville this weekend so I won’t be around again. If you want to do a check via mail that’s cool. I’ll email you the details. Oh… I am planning on being at the Ciunas www.ciunas.net gig tomorrow night. If you plan on going I’ll bring a few along?

Patrick.

My copy of this arrived yesterday, and I really haven’t stopped listening to it since… except for bed-time… and after a strong glare from She who must be obeyed.

Great stuff Patrick et al.!!! I found the sound to be well mixed… I almost felt as though I was in attendance at the concert. Thanks very much!

Just sent out a check. Can’t wait to get it!

Just got mine today. Mick and Kevin are in good form. Its too bad you couldn’t get Benedict to do some solos. I know he is mic-shy, but he really is a fine player in his own right. Maybe next year …

Very enjoyable CD…Organic recording as they say…I don’t know how they got the foot stomping in sync and who is coughing on disc two at 5:03 …??? Incredible perfectly timed with the tempo  I am not saying this to be a wisaass..I love these types of home grown cds..they are the real deal in capturing the musical moment.. Kudos to the performers and producers…for keeping it real! Did I hear beer caps being opened??? Out of time no less?? :astonished:

The set that starts with Slieve Russell? I’m not naming names, but I was sitting right next to the mics, and I can say with certainty that it was a piper

And no, it wasn’t me…

That was a brilliant concert.

Jonathan

A big thank you to Michael Eskin and Patrick D’Arcy for making the CDs happen. Patrick in particular has put a lot of “sweat equity” into this project. Bravo!

UPDATE: This is now available using Paypal through our site at http://www.socalpipers.com/store.html

We also have a very limited (9) number of Mikie Smyth’s new CD “The Wild Keys”.

Thanks to everyone that has ordered already! Hope you’re enjoying the tunes.

Patrick.

Make that 6.

-Larry

Larry, did you get my email regarding PayPal problems? I still want to be on the Mikie list.

djm

Yes, I got your e-mail. I’m a bit of an eedjit when it comes to the mysteries of PayPal, but D’Arcy is sorting things out. I have one of the Mikie Smyth CDs set aside for you.

-Larry

Make that 5, or less. God, next I’ll be buying the damn pipes.

Kevin Krell
