Sessions in Charlotte,N.C.?

Anybody know if there are any sessions around the Charlotte, NC area. I know about the one’s in Raleigh but haven’t been able to make it over.

A catalog company called The](http://celtictrader.com/%22%3EThe) Celtic Trader has an office/shop near where Tryon Rd. crosses I77. They used to have a session in the store. I don’t know what day, though. Give them a call, anyway, as they should have the low-down on the local music scene.

Failing that, if you go to the Carolina Renn Faire in Oct, ask any of the musicians. The elderly couple playing the hammered dulcimers (I think they’re called the “Puckerbush Players”) were the ones who told me about Celtic Trader. Unfortunately, I’m never in Charlotte on days when a session has happened. Please, tell me what you find, I’d like to play next time I’m visiting my family.

Tell me if you’re ever coming to Raleigh/Durham area. You can’t throw a rock without hitting a house session around here lately.

Thanks,
I’ll give them a call. I know exactly who your talking about at the Ren. fest, I go every year, sometimes twice. My wife told me to shut-up and go to Raleigh some evening. I might drop you a line sometime and show up in Raleigh.

I wish I had known about that faire when I still lived down there… I would have gone several times each year. Now I’m lucky to get down there for one weekend during the faire.

Heck yeah. Just gimme a day or two to check with folks, since I only keep track of the sessions I regularly attend (though I do regularly get emails reminding me of ones I can’t get to on weeknights…)

If you can come on a weekend, there is a newly established medium-speed session on every 3rd saturday of the month, and the Celtic Wonders store in Carrboro (near Chapel Hill) has a saturday evening session, too.

In fact, I could PM you the list of Raleigh area ITM contacts, if you want…

That would be great! I’ll work on their set list so I can be half-way prepared, if they’ve got one.
