Work takes me to the Raleigh / Durham area in NC from April 4th to April 8th…I was wondering if there might be an open session I could visit or Chiffers I might meet?
Thanks,
–James

I think I saw some sessions listed in the City Guide Forum for the Raleigh/Durham area.
Your welcome,
Will O’Ban
There are quite a few Irish musicians here, but your dates may fall at a bad time for sessions.
They tend to be on the weekends, or only one day per month, though there are a few
that happen on the weeknights. A session just started up on NC State campus on Mondays,
but it starts at 3:30pm, which may not jive with your schedule, if you are working…
Give me a PM in late march, and I’ll see what will be going on that week. If nothing interesting
is going on, maybe I’ll finally get around to having a house session…
Also, if you like folk music, I often go Wednesday nights to a folk singalong/session.
It’s mostly string players, and it isn’t particularly Irish (though we do sing the occasional Irish
song), but it can be fun, too.
Thanks for following up with that, Wormdiet. I didn’t know about the Connelly’s Pub session
on Wednesdays. That’s close to my house… I will have to try it out!
Thanks! I appreciate it!

Unfortunately, James, it looks like sessions during the weekdays are drying up around
here. That seems to happen around St. Pat’s day, with people’s bands playing for Parades
and the like.
However, there is still a growing session on NCState campus on Monday at 3:30pm, if
you can get free for a couple of hours in the afternoon.
If you’re still around on Sat. evening, there is a session in Pittsboro (south of Durham, west of Raleigh.)
See the C&F City Guide for Raleigh, or PM me if you need info/directions.
I appreciate you letting me know.
I’m arriving Sunday evening and flying back on Friday, so it looks like I’ll miss the sessions.
Still, I will have a flute and a whistle with me, so if a session does come up and you’d like a visitor with an Arkansas accent
post here–there’s a good chance I’ll be able to keep track of the boards next week, though not 100% certain.
Thanks again!
–James
Are you down here for RedHat training?
AIX training.

Ah, exciting.
I’ll keep an ear out when I talk to folks at Monday’s session.
Cool!–I appreciate it.

Randomly I too am going to be in the RDU area this weekend - what’s the scoop on week end sessions?
