Hi,

what are the prices for the Rose and the Greenwood whistles, also do you have any pics

cheers sponge

I might be interested as well. Tell us the price. Or PM me if you’d prefer.

Hello there, sorry for the delay in getting back to you both. I’ll have to have a think about the prices, will let you both know tomorrow. and I’ll try to send you some pictures also.
Regards,
Irish Rover

PS. I’m living in Dublin Ireland so you would have to pay postage costs.

I come over to Dublin at least twice a year, and have friends there, so postage not a problem. In fact, if I’d know a couple of weeks ago, I could have tried them …

I wonder if we’ve met? …

Out of interest, how come you got them, and why haven’t you played them? I don’t think I’d be able to keep my paws off them, if I owned something like that.

If the Greenwood is really brand spanking new, then Mr. Boisvert’s price for a D/C set is $500. ($350 for the d and the head, and $150 for the c body)

I have no idea what a rose whistle costs.

Someone jump on this Greenwood, I just got one and I am in love with it.

I hate making assumptions, but here I go… If that rose whistle is a Fred Rose (UK) whistle, then his website says:

Price £180 UK Pounds Sterling

I got this info from www.fredrose.co.uk if that helps… Looks like a nice whistle, wish I wasn’t broke and saving another $1,500 for my UPs.

Cheers!

Matt

Hello,
Just to give you an update on the state of the whistles!

I took some photos of the whistles last night and have some photos of the mouthpieces of the whistles on my computer, but I can’t figure out how to put them onto this page! So if you would like to see the pictures please let me know.

I think the best thing is to say whoever offers me the closest to the asking price of the whistles can have them.

The Boisvert / Greenwood whistle is brand new, never played, and is still in the original packaging from the maker. It is made from Blackwood and brass with a delrin mouthpiece. There is one whistle head and two bodies – D and C. It has a holder for the two parts in red woven material.

The Rose whistles (2) (1 of Blackwood & gold and 1 of Blackwood & silver) are also in new condition. The mouthpiece is made of light-coloured wood. I have played the gold-finished one a few times but haven’t played the silver one. Both come in the little fitted cases supplied by the maker.

The Sweetheart D Pro is also new with a delrin mouthpiece. It is made of brown laminate wood and comes in a padded case.

The Sindt D is a fantastic whistle and the brass is a bit discoloured, especially around the finger holes.

The Clarke-Sweetone D whistles (2) are tweaked by Jerry Freeman. They are black and are brand new and unplayed. (They cost £11.75 sterling each in the shop!)

Are you selling all of these? :boggle:

if so, send me a pm

Hello, yes I’m selling all the whistles. Has anyone an idea how much the Sindt whistles are selling for new? I can’t find a website on John Sindt or a description on Chiff and Fipple about the whistles!

I have to go away this evening until next Monday but will try and access the website over the weekend. Apologies about not being able to post my photos. It looks like technology got the better of me! If you would like to see the photos I took, please send me a private message with your e-mail address and I will forward them to you.Hope that’s OK ?

Bye for now and hope you all have a nice weekend,
Irish Rover

Hiya folks,

I don’t mean to be difficult or cause issues, but I thought it might be prudent to ask a clarifying question. I’m not trying to say anything negative about the seller at all. I have no “investment” in this sale and no interest in casting aspersions on the seller. So please don’t misunderstand my intent.

In regards to my (Greenwood) whistles…you may want to define what you mean by “new”? Possibly you meant “like new” condition. I’ve only VERY recently gotten back into the shop and made anything new. Of the whistles that HAVE been made recently, they are all accounted for. This set (if bought directly from me) would be over 2 years old. Also, you may want to check the fipple. I’ve made only ONE fipple entirely made delrin. The only thing I use delrin for is the fipple plug* itself. If I recall correctly, the delrin fipple went with a delrin D body as well.

Oh, a new standard african blackwood and brass d/c set from me will cost $450. (the $350 was a typing “user error” on my part when updating the site)

God Bless,
David

Hello everyone,
this is in answer to Reedbiter’s message. Thanks very much David for clarifying the situation and for highlighting my misunderstanding! The whistle has a delrin fipple plug, not a delrin fipple. Though the whistle body itself is made from blackwood and brass, not delrin. I think the whistle is about 2 years old as David said, but I never played it at all and it’s still in the package he sent it to me in. The whistle is absolutely lovely, it was my poor lung capacity that stopped me playing it. So the whistle is like brand new, never played, only taken out once for me to have a look at but still unplayed. I hope that helps. Thanks again,
Irish Rover

Always happy to weigh in on Greenwood whistles. I have D and a C. It was originally D & C set but I wanted the C body to match the sound of the D so I sent the C body to David for a new head to match. What I got was a whole new C whistle as he wanted the head & body to match - he is a real perfectionist. They are hands down my favorite whistles. I can’t imagine having them and not playing them. Not criticising as I don’t know the circumstance but hope they will end up being played.

Hello everyone,
I just wanted to let you know that the Sindt whistle is now reserved and all the other whistles are still available.
Best wishes,
Irish Rover

Sorry if I have missed it, what is the price of the Sweetheart ? Thanks Clive, Alton, Hants UK

Hi there Clive, thanks for your message. The Sweetheart new cost me £155 stg. It’s made of laminated dymondwood with a delrin fipple, so should last forever! They don’t make the Sweethearts with the delrin fipple any more. If you would like to make me an offer, that would be great! Mine is new and unplayed, and comes in a black padded case. Maybe price of £140 as a suggestion? But please suggest a price to me if you’re interested. postage will be extra. Best wishes,
Irish Rover

Hello, Just to let you know, the Sindt whistle has been sold and all the other whistles are still available.
