I saw that earlier today.
I know his whistles seem to keep going up and at a premium…since…well… there aren’t going to be any new ones.
How was he with flutes?
Does anyone own one or more?
Im always with the questions I know… but ya’ll seem to have all the answers. ![]()
Got me one like the eBay one. Jon C.'s giving it a little TLC. I’ll probably pick it up in a week.

I’ve had one for several years. It’s loosely based on a Rudall design. It has large toneholes. I find it difficult to play, mostly because of the holes, partly because of a pretty demanding embouchure. When I hit it just right, the sound is absolutely fantastic.
I just got one recently. I absolutely adore it!!! I haven’t played many flutes, though, and the ones I have played have been obscure models. So, I can’t really compare it to much. IMHO, Glenn’s craftmanship on his flutes is just as wonderful as on his whistles. As chas said, the tone is spectacular. It can be pushed from sweet, to rough, to dark, to nice, and anything else you can think of. My only complaint is that I have a lot of difficulty half-holing anything. But, that might just be me.
