I couldn’t agree more - Sam is a great guy and he makes absolutely kick-butt flutes.

Geez. . . I wonder if the poor shopkeep will open up his email and find about 60 inquiries about Sam’s flutes in a few hours. . . .

Doh.

If nothing else, that’s a dodgy email addy.

Well, we all know how I feel about Sam Murray’s flutes

A while back I wrote him a letter with some questions about repairs on a secondhand Murray and he actually called me with answers.

Like I’ve said before … he’s a busy man, there’s only one of him, but he makes super Irish flutes. And he takes time to talk to people.

There ya go.

I left a message for Sam to call me last night and he called first thing this morning. We worked out the details and I ordered a 6 key from him. He took the time to answer all my questions and was very helpful. We even went over a few tunes and styles while I was on the phone. I look forward to getting my flute.

Did he give you an estimate of delivery? Just interested! Thanks for the information. Sounds like a lovely conversation.

Jeanie

He told me around 8 to 9 months. Not bad at all I think.

All I can say is that I’m getting my unkeyed much earlier than expected, no problems at all.

In a couple weeks I’m hopefully having a flash trip to Galway to meet Sam, pick the hardware up, listen to some music and have some lessons

…sounds good…?

hope the poor shopkeeper dont get his butt–kicked.
