Finally!
I’ve redone, and rejiggered, the website.
All is well.
New flutes located and added!
New copies of hand-written letters by George Rudall himself!
New info about the certificates (are they really signed by the owners?)
New info about the shape of the foot keys!
Thanks to all who asked, and to all whose patience I tested!
dang, Stuart
thought one Rudall was enough for you!
okay, then…i’ve got four others for sale, two in Patent Heads, one of them a Rudall Carte, and another in large-holes
ahem…
so…
Ah, the Rudall Bb
you’ll get yours when I get mine!
For now, I’m settled to play a Grinter Bb, which is modeled on a Rudall Bb owned by an old friend of Kevin Crawford in England.
This summer I saw a Monzani Bb at a museum. Interesting, with an odd-looking embouchure ridge to channel the air flow.
I’ve not put your Rudall on the catalogue yet because I’ve not yet begun the 5000-series of flutes for the website. The database goes through @7200, so you can imagine the backlog (exacerbated by the lack of free time, too!)
I’ve actually been considering the sale of the Rudall-with-Olwell head…I’ve not been playing that honker as much. Again, a fleeting thought.
C’mon Dave, give it up to me! #7007 needs to go to someone who doesn’t already have a rudall. People like you and me and Stuart, we want the best Rudall we can find.
So give it up and share the wealth. One thing that is clear to buddhists–desire is satisfied. when we get what we want, we continue to want something more or different. Just nature. You can’t take it with you.
