Oooh! I think that’s my phone. Probably a client. Can’t talk now - gotta go.
(Business is business and all that).

Well, thanks for sharing that…!
sorry… my dog wants out..GTG!!

Oh, sure, now we’re expected to believe there’s someone out there who will talk to you.
I ain’t buying it. ![]()

Hold on … Did you hear something?
Hmmm? What? Hear something? No, not me.
Have to run…I think the coffee is done! ![]()

Hello? Hello? Is this Ricky Bobby? What…this isn’t Talladega? It’s what?
Talasiga? Sorry. My bad.
I set my mobile to vibrate and keep it in my front trouser pocket. “Call me,” I say. No one does. ![]()
Ya pervert. I’m not surprised. ![]()
The thread title sez “Ringle Tingle”, y’know. Just staying apropos of the subject. ![]()
Come to think of it, Tal didn’t specify what sensations led him to conclude that his phone was notifying him of a client’s call. He did say
Oooh!
Mixing business with pleasure, perhaps?
–Seriously, I really dislike vibrate mode. It always startles me and makes me jump and I let out a fine blue word or two. Usually I invoke a deity.

I have heard this complaint several times, but always from men. ![]()

Ok, vibrate startles me too. But so does a samba suddenly pealing out.
Maybe I just startle easily. Maybe I just don’t get enough calls to be inured to it.
It doesn’t even have to be in my pocket, just clipped to my belt. I always have the gut reaction that a big insect landed and got tangled up with me somehow, and it’s pissed off.

So… talk to yourself much? ![]()
My phone is on vibrate first, then ring. It’s clipped to my belt. It’s a point of honour to answer the damned thing before it makes a sound. Then I can look down my nose at people with ring-tones that make everyone else jump.
Usually I invoke a deity.
You’d be better off invoking St. Gabriel the Archangel. He’s the patron saint of telephones ![]()

I miss my old phone. I had for its ringtone the “Can-can Dance”, and BOY, was it obnoxious.
YAAAAA TA-TA-TA-TA TAA TAA TA-TA-TA-TA YAA TAA YA-TA-TA-TA TA-TATATATATATATA YAAAAA TA-TA-TA-TA YAA TAA YA-TA-TA-TA TAA TAA YA-TA-TA-TA YATATATATA.
…and then it repeated. Again. And again. ![]()

Teenagers prefer mobiles to sex
One in three people would want £1m to give up their mobile, and those aged between 16 and 24 would prefer to give up sex for a month than do without their handset, according to Carphone Warehouse’s Mobile Life survey.

Understandable. Most phones have no roaming charges, and more free minutes…
