Rock'n'roll: the question everyone's afraid to ask.

What on earth does “ram a ram a ding-dong” mean and how did it escape the censors? :astonished:

I thought it was “ram a dam a ding-dong”

which may be worse or better, depending on your PoV.

where’s a moderator???

Walden… :astonished:

Better I left it unasked?

I think it actually is supposed to be ram-a-lam-a-ding-dong. Not that the correction helps one iota in the meaning. I just thought I’d let you know

Really? Maybe I’m wrong then. Hmmmm…still doesn’t help in terms of meaning though, does it?

So, we’re all agreed it’s something about sheep?

I always knew it as a-ram-a-lamb-a-ding-dong:

A ram:

A lamb:

A ding dong:

Looks like it…but mine would make the most sense in the end. You can definitely ram a lamb a ding dong.

ding ding ding

we have a winer!!!

No no no!! Ram used as a verb. Like you rammed the Ding Dong into the Lamb’s mouth. Makes sense to me. That must be what they meant.

You’d think it’d’ve been more scandalous than Louie, Louie!

might…wait till they notice that it wasn’t lam/lamb

ya gotta keep an eye on those lama

So it is your contention that it’s a llama rather than a lamb, is it? That changes everything.

Ram a ding dong into what?

Ok, so now we find that Rama Lama Ding Dong is this guy’s girlfriend. That cleared everything up, dinnit? :stuck_out_tongue:

To throw a wrench into things:

When I was a little biddy boy
My grandma bought me a cute little toy
Two Silver bells on a string
She told me it was my ding-a-ling-a-ling

My Ding-A-Ling My Ding-A-Ling won’t you play with My Ding-A-Ling
My Ding-A-Ling My Ding-A-Ling won’t you play with My Ding-A-Ling

When I was little boy In Grammar school
Always went by the very best rule
But Evertime the bell would ring
You’d catch me playing with my ding-a-ling

Once while climbing the garden wall,
Slipped and fell had a very bad fall
I fell so hard I heard birds sing,
But I held on to My ding-a-ling

Once while swimming cross turtle creek
Man them snappers right at my feet
Sure was hard swimming cross that thing
with both hands holding my dingaling

Now this here song it ain’t so bad
Prettiest little song that you ever had
And those of you who will not sing
must be playing with your on Ding-a-ling

A lama and a llama are two rather different things, aren’t they?

Yes, Tibetan Ding Dongs are made from yaks’ milk.

But let us proceed to more sinister events. Any takers on “nonny”?

As in:

Hey nonny ding dong, aling aling alay
