In line (not offset) holes. Just tuning. “Powder coated” brass tube. Nice tone, very different than other low d’s I’ve tried. I’ll post a tune today on Clips with it. The finger-stretch is a bit long for me. If you have particularly short fingers, beware. (The right ring finger is where the trouble resides for me.)
The “Just” tuning is ideal for solo playing. The higer notes sound more in tune than accurately tuned high-end whistles. (On slow airs, I sometimes shade the holes for high b or f- on high whistles- because they sound a bit sharp for the tune.) This whistle doesn’t need this. I’ve also played with other instruments, including guitar, and couldn’t discern being noticeaby out of tune, though I was cautioned by Ronaldo Reyburn to expect this. The other players didn’t think I sounded off, either.
The powder coating (discontinued by Ronaldo due to production problems) keeps a clean look to the brass (not powdery looking). It looks a bit more orange and darker than polished brass. The powder coating originally went for $20 or $25 more.
Some tiny scratches where the right thumb supports the tube. The wood mouthpiece looks pristine.
$190 +$10 shipping. Any questions, email me. Why am I selling? I have to finance some recent (foolish and unnecessary-in my wife’s opinion) acquisitions, got a touch of whoa lately. Can’t help it.
