I bought this whistle for a student, just over a month ago, from a seller on this site. Picture and description are still up. I discovered it was not the latest model as it had less volume in the lower octave than the newest one. The seller was under the impression that this was the latest model (see his OP). However, I think the volume is comparable with the Burke Viper. My student went for a MK whistle, which was to his liking. The obvious difference is the perturbation in the newest model is higher up in the bore.
That said, I find this to be an excellent whistle with good (just) intonation and the same in the upper octave as the new model, soaring and easily supported. The lower octave is full and easily controlled. It is not as loud, nor can it be “leaned into” as heavily as the bottom octave of the newest models, but not everyone wants or needs a session blaster. The tone is round, full and very lyrical, with some character, not too pure. The whistle, which is under a year old, with only a few hours on it, looks like new, with only very minor scratches, which can easily be buffed out (if it matters). It came to me with no case.
I offer it here for $180 obo, or onto eBay it goes in a week.
