Hi guys,
Just a quick one.
How do you stop reg reeds from going up in pitch with pressure?
Do people just open the lips up a wee bit?
Cheers
Check for any tiny leaks first. Anywhere in the set can give you that octave jump. Then check you’ve not too much tuning stuff up the bore, or lumped around one of the tone holes. If that fails then you could open the reed up a bit but that might throw the balance off and make them flat or harder to play.
Also, if you’re new to the regulators then make sure you’re hitting the keys properly. I find a bit of cork under the top of them can give you the right depth.
