Back in the '80’s, I was in the airport in Boston and ran into a few lads just in from Ireland who, upon noticing my fiddle, asked for a tune. We chatted for a bit, and they offered me their cassette tape, “Dysart Tola.” I asked if there was any piping on it, to which they answered that it included Ronan Browne playing the “Thrush in the Evening,” (if I remember correctly.) I’d like very much to hear that recording again, if anyone has it in their attic or glove compartment or wherever.
