I was deeply in love with Dan Fogelberg throughout the late 70s. Still have most of his albums out in a box in the storage shed. I’m sorry to hear this. He made some beautiful music.

Those two tunes listed by djm are perfect examples of the work of a true artist. Pure perfection.
That is indeed sad news. One of the first songs I ever performed in public was “Leader of the Band”. It was in high school, 11th grade, I think, and I was terrified.. Another song not mentioned is “Longer”. Beautiful stuff. I still cry when I hear “Same Old Lang Syne”, and I think I will do so even more now.
The Leader of the band has indeed died …
And unfortunately, he did it on my birthday. Doubly sad.
What a wonderful musician! The world is a sadder place without him.

Wow, very sad news indeed.
I like Fogelberg’s music very much. His Innocent Age is, in my view, his best work – interesting, engaging, and perfectly/thoughtfully nostalgic. It’s always hard to say exactly why someone’s music speaks to me, but his does. Sad loss.
i learned how to play longer on the guitar when it came out.
I play that one on the old joanna piano. Lovely.
His tunes bring a tear to the eye. The greatest compliment to a musician IMHO.
