That’s great, Doug. Did your wife do that?
I’ve always admired how old fence lines have cut into tree trunks and shaped their growth, forming horizontal welts. I’ve thought that the patient (really patient) artist could cause something now that would eventually grow into a face in the bark.

To tell the truth, a factory worker in China did the carving. My wife couldn’t pass up a sale at the Wild Bird Store (She bought three sets for gifts), and I was assigned to climb the ladder and nail the face parts to the tree. The only trouble is that this is also a favorite tree for squirrels. They chase each other around the tree and knock off body parts.
You can buy “Forest Faces” at a lot of places. I haven’t seen any that include the hand - that’s cute!

http://www.backyardbirdsdiscoverycenter.com/forest_faces.php is where I found this picture. There’s one we have at NW Seed that has moss in his teeth.
Hi
That sounds really painful for them. So now, you’re going to have to perform reconstructive surgery on squirrels…

The forest face on my front yard tree freaks me out.
