This forum is for posts that are off-topic, that is not related to whistles, flutes, pipes, Irish traditional music, and so on. It’s general conversation, wide ranging topics. The kind of stuff you might chat about at a social gathering, which this kinda is.
Ahem Dale, that is your quote stating the purpose of the Board yes?
So why delete a thread that quoted a news article from a reputable source with Jack posing a question?
Wasn’t Jack’s thread within your definition above?
because it would end in a never-ending story. and dale, as others here, has enough of that just now.
what specifcally in that thread indicated a never-ending story?
at what point does a thread become a never ending story? 20 replies? 50? 100? should each thread that crosses the threshold be deleted?
You know, back in my pub-going days, if I was sitting at a table and didn’t like the conversation, I’d get up and wander off to another table. Or go have a pee.
I wouldn’t stand up and piss all over the conversation that was happening.
Because like the fighting over seas is never-ending and pointless, so to is the fighting on this board. Because some people simply cannot say their peace (piece?) and move on without “winning.” Because some people cannot hear what is being said to them over the noise in their own head that there is only one correct answer. Because, as in most human conflict, no one seems to have learned anything.
