For this post I nominate fearfaoin

No, no, please. Just send money.

I thank you all for your consideration.

My nomination goes to Harry for this bit of wisdom:

–James

An encouraging music related post? Guess I’ll second that one.

I nominate everybody. Or, if that’s too many nominees,
all those who posted what they thought and tried to
be kind and civil. That’s excellence, IMO–the community
is a rope held together by every honest thread. Past
that I think everybody’s voice is equal.
I know this ‘contest’ is absolutely well meant, but maybe
not everything needs to have a winner.

I nominate this post…

This is brilliant and definately should win.

second (or third, whatever)
great post that, and quite a few others…

jeroen

I nominate Jim Stone for coining the expression “sublime goofiness.”

Tom

Can deleted posts be nominated?

Perhaps in a special category?

Is there going to be a lifetime achievement award?

Well, it isn’t an award for best post.
Though it might be awarded that way if
we chose to.

Yes, it may be that some of the best posts
were in deleted threads. It’s been a strange year.

I agree with WyoBadger. “Sublime goofiness” is just so perfect, it at least deserves recognition. I strive for sublime goofiness, and hopefully, someday, I will achieve it.

Well, thank you all.

Mozart’s Magic Flute has been called ‘peerlessly silly.’

As I’m sure you know, there was manner (as well as magick) to his madness.

–James

Ahem..

With all due respect to all involved..

Scorsese was brought into the project late and allowed to assemble the film only from archival materials vetted by Jeff Rosen, Dylan’s manager. Scorsese’s presence is most clearly felt in a moment of almost sublime goofiness – a re-creation of Dylan’s notoriously obtuse 1963 speech to the National Emergency Civil Liberties Committee, with Scorsese doing a Dylan impersonation that wouldn’t pass muster at a high school talent show. He even drops the punch line, when Dylan baffled and offended the audience by claiming to feel kinship with Lee Harvey Oswald.

Knock, Knock,Knockin…

Slan,
D. :stuck_out_tongue:

… the doood rocked, like, totally.

Too many to count. We should divide them into catagories.

Most humerous. Most misunderstood. Longest repercussions.

Unfortunately the posts with the longest felt repercussion are usually part of an argument.

Hey moderators, can I start a thread called “People I’ve irrevocably alienated on C&F”?

I’d like to nominate my shoulder joint in this category.

Dave

O now…U boy you.

A strange concept to the humorous members from foreign shores..

Slan,
D.

Except that the humerous is not a joint but a longbone. However I think shoulder joints don’t get enough attention so we could use it.
