Does someone in the San Francisco Bay Area want to play music for 2 hours at a St Patrick’s Day dinner for 100-150 people (for free)? I’m playing the whistle and I hate to do it alone. I could use a non-whistle melody player and/or guitar/bouzouki type accompanist to help me out. Even a bodhran would be cool, if you can keep time.
It’s a fund-raiser for a local Catholic grade school. Sat, March 4, 6-8pm, Richmond, CA. I played for them last year (with a bouzouki player). It’s a low-keyed event. We’re mic’ed and there are speakers in the ceiling over everyone’s head. ![]()
Email or pm me asap if it sounds like you’d like in on the glory (and free drink). I wasn’t crazy about the actual corned-beef and cabbage affair. I might eat ahead of time. But, that’s your option. I’ve put together a lengthy set list of the whole gamut of tunes, fast and slow. I’m focusing on not rushing through anything. If you do melody, you don’t have to know everything and you can do your favorite party piece or whatever. I’m not running auditions for pro’s, ('cause, I ain’t one) but hopefully, well, you know, if you shouldn’t be doing this, don’t. Otherwise, I’m trusting you.
If I don’t hear from anyone, well, wish me luck. I’ll need it.
