Anyone interested in doing a non-paying gig the Saturday before St Patrick’s Day in the San Francisco Bay Area? You do get free corned-beef/cabbage (not to mention potatoes) and free beer. It’s a fundraiser for a Catholic grade school in Richmond near I-80. The (somewhat noisy) audience of around 120 people includes a lot of active listeners who groove on the tunes. I’ve been doing it for about 6 or 7 years. Runs from 6pm to 8pm. A chance to get your feet wet in front of an audience. Low pressure, otherwise. We put together a list of tunes/sets common to us all, do one rehearsal if possible. Fun if you don’t freak yourself out. Little kids stand directly in front of you and stare fascinated or the hop around in a frenzied dance. Send me a pm or email if interested or know someone who might be interested. (I definitely don’t want an all-whistle orchestra.)

I’d do it in a minute if I lived there.
People-- this kind of gig is more fun than you can imagine. Kids LOVE it, and you just might influence a few to take up music. Someone pick up on this.
Sounds like a lot of fun. Bit of a long swim for me though. Good luck with it.
