I’m going to the Ennis festival in november, and I’ll take a couple of extra days to visit Galway city. I was wondering what places should not be missed in my visit. I know there are Sam Murray’s and Glenn Watson’s workshops. Is there a music shop in there also? Anything else?

The Crane is an awesome place. You should definitely go there. Tig Coili is also a must.
In a place called “The Spanish Arch Hotel”, there is a band called Alale that plays regularly. You should try to catch them, if they play when you are there 
Powells on Four Corners in the main street music shop usually has a few Murrays in stock. Worth walking up along the river to see all the old mill races.
It would be a good idea to call first, and ask if it’s ok before turning up at a someone’s workshop unannounced. They are not tourist attractions
Aran islands. Skip the sweaters but nothing else.
Shurely Frankie Gavin is Galway’s greatest natural attraction.
