At one time I had a CD version of The Pipers’ Rock album, but I’ve lost it in several moves. Does anyone know where I could get my hands on this album?

I recently purchased this album on vinyl. According to the Sleeve notes Davy Spillane was only playing the pipes for 4-5yrs at the time he was recorded. 2 part question. Are the notes accurate and is it really possible to get that good in such a short span?
FWIW, JOBM was playing much shorter than that when the recording was made.

On speed of learning, if you are brought up “in the tradition” and are keen and motivated, the only thing you have to do is learn how to wiggle your fingers, which is something most of us can do anyway. I’ve seen GHB players in this situation do astonishing things in a year.
There’s a very interesting passage in the book May It Fill Your Soul about the rapidity and method of learning of young kids on the pipes, indeed “wiggling their fingers” more or less!
