I got a scare a few moments ago when I loaded the Huffington Post, and saw the following link: Pete Seeger: a True American Hero.
So soon after reading news stories & obits for Mstislav Rostropovich, my heart skipped a beat and I thought that a moment I’d been half awaiting and half dreading ever since the death of Johnny Cash had arrived. Because Pete Seeger is the reigning giant of ‘popular’ American music–one of the few who managed to cast long, long, loooooonnnng shadows on our music, our culture, and our times.
However, it turns out the entry was a reference to a new documentary about Pete, and not an obit.
