Patrick Sky pipes?

A quick question.

Does anybody have any feedback, good, bad or indifferent, regarding Pat Sky’s budget and top range chanters, ie. sound, playability, ability to reed, workmanship, etc.

Your feedback would be much appreciated.

Go raibh mile maith agat!!!

Pat has been making pipes for over thirty years. He is also a mighty reed maker to boot.

From personal experience, every chanter I have pleyed by Pat has been spot on in tune and pleasant to the ear. You can’t go wrong with his work IMHO.

Although I still consider myself a “beginner”, it was around this time last year that I received from Pat Sky one of his really neat “BUDGET CHANTERS” with a reed that was a delight. The combination of those two items allowed me to immediately attend an Irish music retreat and participate in a fashion beyond my expectations. I cannot say enough about the high quality of Pat’s work and the results that can be had without spending an unreasonable amount of money. His web site:

He also furnishes a free reed adjustment booklet that gives a newcomer consise and explicit needed information.

“Anasazi Piper”

Joe and Aanasazi,

Thanks a million for the reply.

Does anybody have anything to say to the contrary.

If you don’t want to post on the main forum, feel free to send a private mail.

Be me ag caint leat aris.

Pat makes crappy pipes, always has, always will. They’re so crappy, that they come with their own colony of maggots at no extra charge. Is that contrary enough?

Of course, I don’t mean a word of it. Pat makes a mighty instrument.

Who among u all knows what a HALLION is???

Answers on a postcard to…

I don’t know about Hallion, but a Hellion is a mischievous person.

One and the same Joe, but Americans changed the spelling.

Damn us, damn us all to hell.

In my neck of the woods, a hallion is more like an extemely ugly person, usually a woman!!!

In my part of the world, Co. Dun na nGall, a hallion would be a rogue, gobshite, muppet, eejit, gombeen, guilpin, in fact anything good, bad or indifferent you can possibly say about a person.

Anyway, does anyone have anything to add to the original subject, ie does anybody know anything about the hallion Sky’s pipes?

That’s “dunnygawl” to everyone outside of Ireland,

Sorry to divert the main thrust of the thread…just I grew up being called a hallion about twice a week on average

Now, everyone, back to Pat Sky’s pipes

Superb pipes, great guy, you can’t go wrong.
