Hello. I’m just new to the board and am looking for some advice. I have a beautiful set of Pat O’Riordan interchangeable tin whistles which I am looking to sell - in D Eb and C.
When I bought them many years ago I was told that the Eb was Pat’s prototype.
I don’t have much of an idea of what they are worth but am keen to find out before I sell them.
They’re worth more than you paid for them, probably.
Pat O’riordan’s whistles are always in high demand. If you sell them, though, I wouldn’t go the eBay route because while you may get a higher price, you never know in whose hands the whistles’ll end up.
With such quality instruments I like to know who I’m selling or giving them to, but perhaps that’s just me.
LOL - you can get a LOT for those whistles. Pat’s whistles are very, very highly sought after and the demand far outstrips the demand. I think individual whistles of his have sold for between three and four hundred dollars over the last few years.
Do a search of the forums for O’Riordan and I’m sure you’ll find something.
Chris
I believe there are some of his whistles on eBay right now. Watch those auctions and that will give you a good idea of what they are going for now a days.
Welcome to the board…Please forgive my presumption, but I am truly curious. If your screen name is indicative of your interest in whistles…and if whistles are not a passing fancy for you…it interests me to understand your reason for selling a set of whistles that most only dream of owning. You have a whistle set created by one of the most beloved makers of the instrument. Suffice it to say you won’t have trouble selling them…
Nope, the sweetest cat is definitely “the white one.” We have two, and after years of bickering over their names (don’t ask, we never had this problem before and have always had well named cats), they were simply called respectively “the white one” and “the black one.” The black one is stubborn and intensely loyal and always stays close to any family member who is ill at the time. The white one is really stupid (falls off the edges of things constantly, races across rooms and smashes into doors and windows, attacks shadows that noone else can see, etc.), but is the prettiest, softest and sweetest animal on the planet.
