And the rest you replying here: it’s never a good thing when someone gets so pissed off that he/she feels it necessary to leave the message board.

I for one didn’t say anything like that. I said that I thought her attitude was crappy, that’s all. And that everyone seemed to be acting like Big Babies ™. =) I have become jaded about people making Big Steaming Exits ™ on the 'net, having been on Usenet since forever, also on IRC and BBSes and other systems as well - in 12 years you can get a bit sick of it. I certainly don’t think it’s never a good idea – certainly not after you’ve sort of poisoned a lot of people towards you by telling them that you consider them all to be morons. shrug.

We are civilized people here, folks. That means that Loren AND Phil Hardy can post here, and people can post birth announcements and pictures of their cats. We can do all of this because we don’t have to read and/or respond to every post.

I don’t think anyone said that Jessie or anyone else couldn’t post whatever they wanted. I think that people were just sort of surprised (as was I, let me tell you) that JessieK would have such a supercilious attitude about, from what it sounds like, a majority of people on the board. And this is from a person wha was on her side of the fence in the discussion that started all this crap. =) I just can’t imagine why she would have wasted all of her time on a group of people she obviously hated so much for all this time. And I do feel somewhat hurt by it, because I don’t know from the ambiguity of her post where on the spectrum I am. =) Oh well, whatever.

Back to the business at hand…

mmmmm, welsh rarebit…

I’m glad to see we’re starting to leave the off-topic stuff and start talking about pennewhistles again.

Rich,
I wasn’t going to post on this topic, I thought Judith said kinda-what I wanted to say.

But then there was an over-riding principle …

never pass up on chocolat.

Judith, I really really appreciate the offer, I’d love some…

Will everyone just calm down a bit?

Now let’s everyone play nice and have some chocolate, okay?

SUGARHIIIIIIIIGH!!

SUGARHIIIIIIIIGH!!

Sugar. The other white meat.

Richard

Mmmm…Sugar, one of the four major food groups, as in Irish Coffee, the perfect food which contains each of the groups.
Sugar, caffeine, alcohol and fat.
Yum.

I’ve given up on sugar. I opened a packet a while back and this white powder fell out.

GWAR HAR!

You would think that whistle players would have thick skin. After all it could just be the most annoying instrument ever in the hands of a novice. I don’t think anyone came into this world with a silver whistle in thier mouth.

I’ve had my whistle thrown across the room twice by irate victoms. The last time was my Overton A, my friend was a little…lets just say intoxicated. Of course I took him down to let him know his actions wouldn’t stand. But hey, were still friends, and the Overton came out unscathed (he got lucky!!)

Point is whistle players piss people off. Face it we are hated in some sects. Even if we shred and play the most gorgeous melodies. If I play the Tin Whistles album by Potts and Moloney, people run. If I play Spillane, people scream. But If I play Lunasa people purr!! Don’t know what it is about that band…

Point is, I’m here to say anyone of you can say anything you’d like to me. I don’t care. But as revenge know this, I’m never going to leave this board, I’m gonna haunt it until armageddon, and then I’ll haunt it some more. Infact all I’ll do is post threads about recorders hehehehe.

Just kidding of course. You all knew that though huh? Seriously though, hey Jessie told me I ask questions like a thirteen year old, so all I have to say to that is sticks and stones may break…you know the rest. (I know she was kidding me though)

OH YEAH?!! well NO CRULLERS FOR YOU THEN, MATEY BOY!!

Jessie, I’ve always enjoyed your posts even some I might not agree with. I find you refreshingly direct and a real asset to our discussions and you’ve answered my questions both on and off board. I will miss your presence here if you leave. In any case, be well and know that there is care for and appreciation of you.

isn’t it croux-lers?

I do believe that is the cr ux of the matter?

Happy St Patrick’s Day everyone!

Nico (who only whishes that people made as big a deal out of St. Nicholas’ Day, even if he does spell his name wrong!)

Goodbye Jessie, I’ll miss you…

Would it be OK if I skipped the
fighting and running away
and went straight for the crullers?

I didn’t get my fiery exit last time I left… the rest of you just don’t deserve my presence.

Atta girl Jessie, spoken like a true prima donna.

Looking fwd to your comeback!

Steve

PS shouldn’t that be “Friends, morons, countrymen”?

To all of you telling Jessie not to go or that you’ll miss her, fear not. She has left the board in a snit never to return at least three times already. Maybe four. Like Herpes, Little Miss Princess will return…again & again & again.

Like Herpes …

ROTFLMAO

Well here’s a lesson in humility…just had to share with you all:
Well…I was whistling away at the laundry and I noticed this little old lady silently applauding. She was there with her walker…patiently waiting for her son to do this mountain of laundry. (BTW..when he got thru..I couldn’t see anythinkg of hers that he’d washed…just a whole rack of his shirts and sheets etc. Her stuff must have been folded up in this little bag) Anyway…I whistled several things for her and she tried to shuffle her feet to the jigs and I was happy to help her pass the time. When I finally quit whistling and had moved away from her…I had seen another man sort of scowling at me. He finally approached me and asked what days I came to the laundry. I sort of laughed and asked…“So you can avoid me?” and he said yes…quite emphatically. I apologized and said I didn’t mean to annoy anyone. He said it hurt his head. I asked him why he (or his wife) hadn’t said something sooner. Before they left, I asked if they always came on Thurs…which I will avoid from now on. I think he was rather embarassed about the whole thing but he said that certain high pitches are like an icepick to his head. I really felt badly…just wish he had said something sooner.. (And here I thought I was doing my good deed for the day! A lesson in humility…for sure…
So the next time I whistle in a public place I will look around to see who is scowling. Gm

Make a joyful noise!
