Parkhurst whistle for trade

Hi!

I have a Parkhurst Copper whistle in the key of D that I don’t play much.
These whistles have received a lot of praise here on C&F and Dave is an excellent maker.
Personally I think all copper whistles I have tried are too heavy.
This whistle has a very nice tone but is a bit quiet for my taste,
also has a tendency to clog more easily compared to other whistles I play.
These use to sell for 80$ (I paid ~60$) but are no longer being made.

Will trade for Susato’s in B, Bb (wide bore), alto G, F or a good whistle I haven’t played yet.
A McNally strumstick, nice Bodhran beaters, CD’s or tune books can also be an option.

Drop me a PM or mail if you are interested.

Just wondering Marcus whether yours has any of the really nice work that Parky does on these, like musical notes, initials, and other designs? I already have a D/C set that I wouldn’t part with. Never found the copper too heavy; I’d actually call it “substantial.” Anyway good luck with the sale; nice whistles and really unique.

Hi!
Thanks all for some very nice offers, a few very creative ones
Seem to be a great interest for Dave’s whistles, maybe more so now when they are out of production.
But I’m user, not a collector, and this whistle has received very little attention.

Philo, I agree with you. These whistles are quite unique, handmade in every bit.
I got the “thistle” design under the windway, some stripes at the bottom but no initials.

So, hopefully a whistle trade is pending now.
