Paddy Keenan and John Walsh will be performing in Ottawa, Canada, on Friday March 7. For further information please see the website: www.irishmusicottawa.ca
Because there are so few pipers in the Ottawa region, there will be a whistle/low-whistle workshop the following day. That being said, pipers are more than welcome and I’m sure Paddy would do some piping if asked. This workshop may also be the kick-off to an Ottawa area piper’s club, to encourage piping in our part of Ontario.
Just out of curiosity, does anyone know where Paddy Keenan calls home these days, although I would think he is not there very often with the amount of touring he does.
I think he lived in france for a while, but that was a few years ago
Paddy was interviewed on a local radio show Tuesday night. I expect the podcast to be available soon at this link (Feb 25 show). http://www.thegaelichour.ca/archives08.html
I checked out the concert space acoustics at an unamplified gig (harps, classical guitar, voice) and they are as expected, awesome! There will be slight amplification at this concert, but just to augment the hall acoustics, not to overpower them. I have a very trad music saavy soundman so this will be a great concert. Less than 2 weeks to go.
