I’m not sure if this has been posted here before now, however, Paddy Keenan has been awarded Musician of the Year in the TG4 (Irish language TV channel) Gradam Ceoil Awards for 2002 (Traditional Music Awards).
This is part of what they have to say about him

It’s also about time that some US Cable (or DSS) network starts carrying Cúla 4. They carry 3 arabic channels, spanish, french, italian, and any number of other language channels. Why not the Irish language channel.

now that he’s got a few grand coming his way maybe he won’t have to sell his old pipes

That’d be nice for him, though honestly I was hoping for a windfall of money to at least make a bid on the set.
