Actually when I said “larynx” I was talking about singing. Seems to have taken on a whole new meaning - and I can’t imagine how considering the serious tone of most of my posts.

Ok, seriously. I played both trumpet and guitar long ago in the misty past. It’s been so long I’ve forgotten how to pucker for a mouthpiece, and I can hardly pick my nose let alone a guitar string.

Other instruments:

9-holed whistle (that counts, believe me)
simple-system wooden flutes (D and A)
simple-system wooden piccolo
Irish bouzouki
mandolin
banjo-mandolin
bodhrans
bones
uilleann pipes (learning)

Whistle
silver flute
guitar
M&E flute
bag whistle
Native American flute
bag pipe chanter
xylophone
thumb piano
Bose radio
sony cd
owl call
coyote call
train whistle
slide whistle
boson pipe
MT bottles

hmmm
 In chronological order of learning

Marimba (since old enough to see the tops of the bars)
Recorder (tenor & sop. mostly sight reading/accomp. of church music)
Trombone (my principle-- classical, symphonic, quintet, baroque; jazz-swing, dixie, bebop; rock–tower of power type stuff)
Singing (lots of styles)
Fountain pen? (composition counts as a music creation, right?)
Piano (mostly for composition of original works)
Guitar (mostly for composition; jazz; rock; some classical; some ITM)
Recording console (a little stretch, but doing it well is a lot like playing an instrument)
Native American Flute (doodling)
Shakuhachi (noodling)
Whistle (ITM)
Low Whistle (ITM-- the grip and air control is different enough to count separately I think)
Uilleann Pipes (ITM, some tower of power stuff
 just kidding  )
Irish Flute (ITM)
Bodhran (ITM)
Bones (just ITM so far, but I know would work well with bluegrass and dixie/trad jazz)
Mandolin (ITM; some bluegrass)
Harmonica (blues)
Melodica (mostly for adding a ‘free-reed’ sound to some compositions don’t have a squeezebox yet)

Been scoping Tenor Banjos
 and squeezeboxes
oh, and an autoharp.(somebody stop me.. please
)

I know what an erhu(äșŒèƒĄ) is
I don’t know what a thumb piano is

I better Google it

Uilleann pipes/whistle/fiddle depending what tune I’m learning

Currently listening to a lot of Kerry slides for tunes- must be the phase o’the moon

Piano

Besides my high and low whistles, I play or attempt to play the

Hammered dulcimer
Mountain dulcimer
2 & 1/2 Octave Bowed Psaltery
and
Guitar. Just chords for now but I want to learn to finger pick.

Cheers,
Kathy

Guitars (electric, accoustic, 6 and 12 string)
Piano (any other keyboard hanging around)
Anglo concertina
Bouzouki
Mandolin
Harmonica
Flute (Boehm and simple system)
Tenor Recorder
Bass guitar (Fretful and fretless)
Hand percussion (djembe, dumbek, tama, bodhran etc)
Melodica
Saxes (used to play alto, tenor and soprano—now retired)

I play about 40 or 50 different insruments. Unfortunately, most of them are percussion.

A thumb piano is a block of wood with short pieces of piano wire fastened to it, and they are plucked with the thumbs.

flute (keyless/simple system) - a mere newbie, 9 months so far

cello - going on 8 yrs now
daunting to begin learning as a “grownup” but finally starting to sound like a “real” cellist

guitar - only on rare occasions (acoustic folk/rock, no trad)
vocals (on aforementioned rare occasions, usually with acoustic guitar)
own a bodhran but don’t play it much (cheers from the crowd
)
keyboard (electronic) for studying music theory, working out harmonies, etc.

Trumpet is my main instrument. I’ve also played some euphonium in my past but not recently.

I played sax for many years (alto and bari), then picked up the whistle

I now also dabble in flute, melodeon, and tenor banjo.

-Brett

piano/keyboard syn and waiting for my first flute—a Patrick Olwell bamboo G flute

About 15 other but I will just name a few which I play frequently:

Mandolin
Flute
Fiddle
Bassoon (main instrument)
Great Highland Bagpipes (Hence the avatar)
Bass Drum (also the avatar I play Pipes in Parades and Competions I play Bass Drum)
Baritone Horn (in school Marching Band I haven’t played in moths because the season is over)

There is more but why waste time in naming instruments I don’t play well and/or frequently?

In my current band: sax, keyboards (& whistles)
