OT: What are you for Halloween???

Hello everyone,

It’s been a while since I posted. I have been very busy with my college classes.

Happy Halloween to everyone out there!

I am just curious…let’s hear what you decided to be for halloween? Or your kids? Or a friend? Or someone you know? Let’s hear what those crazy costumes are this year. Then maybe we can get some good ideas if we don’t have a costume or use them for future years.

Just thought it would be a fun little post and see what kind of answers I get.

Have a great day!

~Mimi

We have a family wedding.

When the moment is right I’m going to go out into the back garden, take a glow lamp, dry ice and a stool. I’m going to play a horrible tune on the bagpipes (I’m really good at those) with my full kilt on, a black mask and a severed head hanging from a drone. How about you guys?

McSandy

I’m going to be the Pied Piper. I’ve got a Medieval-looking doublet and hat, which I’m wearing with some black leggings and boots. I’ve attached a big, black, plastic rat to the shoulder of the doublet, and put a sign on the back that says “Hamelin Pest Control Service and Childcare. P. Piper, Proprietor. We treat your children as our own!” Humane trapping and KinderMusik programs a specialty. Call 1-800-FOR-RATZ"

Of course, my O Briain “improved” D is also an important part of the costume

I’m going to be most of the day at my daughter’s school’s Halloween carnival, so I think the costume will be a hit.

My husband is wearing a huge, oversized “Tigger” costume. What makes it fun is that he’s riding his motorcycle to work (with his tail tucked in one of the saddlebags). Should turn a few heads this morning!

My daughter is going as a rock diva. She’s going to wear the same costume on Sunday (All Saints Sunday in our church), where she will be St. Cecelia (with a slightly modern twist).

Redwolf

I’ve got some costume devil horns and feathery “bat wings” but it’s not really a good costume. I need like a black robe or something, but I’m po’.

oh well.

This year I’ve got a butterfly and a pumpkin to walk door to door in below freezing weather. Paying for the nice weather the last three halloweens I guess. Oh well, wouldn’t miss it for anything.

My younger brother and I are going as a Chinese dragon. We had wanted to be the Spanish Inquisition (the Monty Python fans that we are) but Mom said an emphatic “No”
Ah well, ther’s always next year!

I get to chaperone a black cat and Dracula as they collect many sweets by knocking on people’s doors. And then I have the great fortune of living with them over the next several days as they consume said treats! I might dress up as well, either as a fortune-teller or a vampiress. I have some really cool fangs!

No one expects the Spanish Inquisition!

Poke her…with the overstuffed cushions!

I too, am going as the Pied Piper, my wife and daughter are dressing as mice

I’m dressed up as Lessa from Anne McCaffrey’s Dragonriders of Pern series. I even have a mini-dragon to sit on my shoulder and everything.

I decided to go as Lessa b/c more than one person suggested it to me… actually, more than one person has said that her personality is uncannily like my own… in addition to being short and having long, dark hair as well…

So, it works. Plus, there’s little makeup involved.

I will be wearing a dress shirt and tie. And of course a ninja mask. I am going as some sort of “Businessman Ninja.” Cost of costume: $0

tired

Whistling Elf, what an awesome idea for a costume! I love the Pern books… and Lessa has always been my favorite character.

I was trying to figure out how to go as Killashandra Ree, the Crystal Singer, but wasn’t quite sure how to pull it off. :stuck_out_tongue:

Hmmm…what we need is to figure out how to get you a full-sized dragon (as I recall, Lessa wasn’t overly fond of fire lizards). Maybe you could borrow a backhoe from someone and deck it out like a queen dragon?

I love the Pern books too.

Redwolf

Yes, you’re right. Lessa wasn’t fond of FireLizards, but I couldn’t think of anything else that would jump out and say “ASSOCIATED WITH DRAGONS.”

But, I figure that because I am so much like her already (or is it the other way around b/c she’s a book character?), it’ll work ok, even with the Flit.

And a backhoe… lol. I don’t think I could get one to come to the dance tonight with me, or follow me around school today..

Andrea: You could wear some tight/snug fitting pants, a nylon jacket with a turtleneck underneath, and some sort of boots… Snow boots could work well. Then, get a crystal or two to either carry or stuff in your pockets, and find something to rig up as a lasergun… Hey, it could work!

And, Lessa is my fav. character as well. Probably b/c we’re so much alike.

Er…It was RATS that followed him. You may want to keep that info from the wife and child.

I love it- dressing as the Spanish Inquisition!LOL
Of course, I must say- Python’s Yellowbeard has got the be one of the funniest movies ever! Everytime I watch it I hear another great line.
