OT:Too Too FUN!

I bet a lot of you have seen these before but WOW what fun!

I like the one that looks like a small French Oval.
Do any of yoose-guys have one of these? Reminds me of Sgt. Pepper(he he he). Gauranteed to chase off the Big Blue Meanies!

(pretty pricey though. Bet I could make some from brass tube covered with polyclay)

They ARE pricey, for sure. The other problem for me is that little trumpet-sized mouthpiece. I played a trombone for good reason - fat lips.

They say they’re playable - you’d think they post a few sound clips.

Thomas:

Your post put me in mind of the work of a fellow with whom I hitch-hiked across this great country (and back again) in 1968. (Yeah, that was thirty-five years ago. Given my current youthful appearance, not to mention boyish good looks, I guess I must have been about 4 or 5 years old when we took that trip–no other explanation makes sense to me.)

I arbitrarily and capricously identifed the theme of ‘ceramic whimsey’ in your posting, and it is in that spirit that I point folks toward the website indicated below. I hope that, in the grand scheme of things, I will be forgiven for the blatant ‘thread creep.’ I haven’t posted anything in a few days and I’m feeling the need to put something out there.

Anyway, if you’ve nothing better to do, check out Henry’s site. Despite the nearly irreparable damage that a month or so on the road together did to our friendship, I still have a soft spot in my heart (not to mention, head) for the old curmudgeon:

My best to all,

Tom D.

Didn’t I see one of those ceramic bugles in How the Grinch Stole Christmas? Very Seussish

VERY cool! I’d love to have one of these critters for a trumpet and sax playing couple I know, but the cost is just a wee bit prohibitive for a fun gift.

I like the teapot shaped one. Looks like it belongs in a Disney movie

Redwolf

Visualize ceramic tuba…

A ceramic car?! Too “Rube Goldberg” for me!

My casual friend Barry Hall has a site with very interesting ceramic instruments. Have a look
